Lorca & Bryce

Toadbury Hall

Oh where do I begin? Photographing these two special people becoming husband and wife is one of the most cherished moments of my life.

It was a freakishly cold weekend in Johannesburg and Lorca and I made our way from the flower shop straight to the venue to start making preparations. This was only a couple of months after my wedding and I jumped at the chance to help set up so I could get the wedding fever all over again! I spent the day making flower bouquets and drinking wine with one of my best friends and her wonderful family while the excitement for the following day started to build.

Waking up on the big day I'm sure Lorca was panicking in her room as it was evident that a bride's worst nightmare was becoming a reality - RAIN! It was freezing and raining, and seemed that it was set for the day. But this didn't matter. Since this was my usual second shooter's wedding, I had to call in a cheeky favour from my new husband and having him following me around during the couple shoot holding an umbrella over my head while getting himself soaked is easily one of my favourite memories to look back on. And luckily, he didn't have to do so for very long, since, 20 minutes into the shoot the rain slowed, the clouds broke, and we were gifted with one extraordinary sunset!

What was left but to party the night away with great friends, while doing what I love, and taking the odd selfie of course! Lorcs and Bryce - CONGRATULATIONS! Thank you for being so damn awesome!

Thank you to my wonderful husband, Marco, whom I definitely don't deserve, for being my assistant for the day x
